Handyman Homes

Handyman homes was a domain I had registered thinking I would turn it into some kind of real estate site.  That hadn't happened although I did use it to publish a simple site for a cousin who was opening a home handyman business.  That was up for a year or so when he got a "real"job and no longer needed it.

Article sites were very new at the time and I paid to much for a collection of articles that could be intalled on your own domain.  I installed them, inserted my Amazon affiliate link in the sidebar and waited to see what would happen.

I am pleased to say that even then I had sense enough to know it was probably not a great idea to put my AdSense code on this kind of content.  It's been more than a year since I published the articles and the site hasn't done anything; which is hardly surprising.

The main benefit of having the content on the web is my old domain, registered in 2002, has had handyman related content on it for all this time.  When I find the time and desire to add real content and make something of the site the process should move more quickley with all this past history.  This may sound trivial, but in the last couple of years I have started to see how nice it is to already have something on the shelf when a new opportunity presents itself.  Since I estimate my holding costs for domain registration and hosting for a year to be about $7.50 keeping sites like this around is affordable.
